Changes have been made for the 2012 Mankato Marathon. The Marathon will now be a weekend event instead of a Friday/Saturday event. Though this announcement was made a few weeks ago, we thought that there may still be some of you that haven't heard. We have attached a link to

The city of New Ulm has two file cabinets in a closet at city hall which contents are heading to auction. To name just a few...the contents contain several hundred photographs of various dead famous people. The auction will be heaven to many of the area collectors, and the proceeds are to go to fund various (undetermined) city projects.

If you've been traveling on Mankato's Madison Avenue the last couple days you may have noticed the two school buses parked in the drive-thru area of the former Madison Avenue Burger King. They are part of a local drive to help feed hungry Haitians and provide needed goods to South Dakota Indian reservations. Even the buses are donations to the cause! The History Channel's popular show "American Pickers" picked St. Peter brothers to pick. Steve and Tom Morgan's garage was filmed in May and their episode entitled "Not So Cheap Thrills" will air on the History Channel Monday at 8pm.

Wednesday night North Mankato had a Town Hall meeting in which tax reform was discussed. There were lots of opinions, and lots of information brought forward.
